During the first week of the school holidays, Artrix has a visit from comedian Jay Foreman with his Disgusting Songs For Revolting Children on Wednesday 25th July at 1pm. Best suited for children aged 6+, award winning musical comedian Jay provides a devilishly cheeky hour of songs, poems and comedy in this family friendly show which regularly sells out its entire runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Up next, Moon On A Stick Theatre Company present Little Red Riding Hood on Tuesday 31st July at 2pm. Combining enchanting puppetry and absorbing storytelling with all the traditional pantomime elements in a gentle, imaginative show, this show is designed especially for our tiniest audience members.
Children aged 7 + (and their grown ups!) can finally try and figure out …How Does This Politics Thing Work Then? on Wednesday 1st August at 2pm. Comedy Club 4 Kids and Simple Politics have teamed up to keep young audiences laughing, engaged and informed – so they can also shout at the telly along with their parents during Question Time!
On Sunday 5th August, Artrix presents another chance to dance at another of the venue’s popular Bubble Disco parties at 11am. Open to children aged 5-10 years, they can join in with dance routines, wave a glow stick and pop lots and lots of bubbles!
There are still tickets available for next month’s Baby Rave VIII on Sunday 5th August at 2pm. Where 90s Rave Culture meets CBeebies, Artrix’s Baby Rave is open to babies and toddlers under 3 years (and their grownups!) and it is often a sell-out event so pre booking is essential.
Featuring swashbuckling verse, jaunty music, gallows humour and the obligatory parrot, Young Herbert’s Horrors comes to Artrix on Tuesday 11th August at 11am & 2pm. This swashbuckling pirate adventure with a twist is a brand new spoken word show for children aged 4-9 years.
Family cinema screenings this summer include the sequel the smash hit Gnomeo & Juliet, Sherlock Gnomes on Thursday 26th, Saturday 28th & Monday 30th July, & Thursday 2nd August (rated cert U).
